The news kind of blew its gravity out of proportion (it was hardly trending topic worthy, but I suppose after the disaster Ondoy caused two years ago, it's understandable), but braving the streets while tropical storm Falcon (Meari) was on a rampage was still kind of fucking scary. My sister had been in the area when Marikina River started flooding in, and she couldn't help but run in a tiny fit of panic as she saw the water spreading into the highway while she was on her way to meet me at my work place (where it was thankfully flood-free). Storm's gone now, though, and the skies are clear again. Next up!

Rainbow bullet points are here for a reason, obviously. 'COS THERE'S A RAINBOW ALWAYS AFTER THE RAIIIIN ♪ 8D *kickedpunchedandgutted I've been following updates about the New York gay marriage legislation since news came out earlier this month, but kind of forgot that the vote was happening yesterday, until I went online and caught Neil Patrick Harris tweeting about its success (I'm like that with birthdays, too, actually. ;;) and then proceeded to bombard the world wide web with celebratory sparkles complete with unicorn mascots with the rest of my fellow happy people. I don't have any plans of living in New York and have never been interested in marriage for myself, but it's nice to know that there's one more place I can consider should I ever meet a girl I'd want to share those vows with. But right now I'll just sit here being happy for Neil and David Burtka and all the gorgeous couples so happily in love.

Or I could go to Baguio. *grabs a popcorn*

People are finally taking steps to properly document LGBT hate crimes in the Philippines. Reading about it is even more sickening when you think about how we, of course, had always had an idea about shit like this happening all over the country (we've been told stories about exactly what has been mentioned in the linked articles and corrective rape back in uni), but have never had something close to concrete reports out in the open--at least none that I know of--and that even with this not that many people seem to care, because most Filipinos still believe that discrimination against LGBT citizens is only a first world problem, and, "Filipino LGBT have got it easier here than in most other countries--even Japanese transsexual queens think so. You should be grateful already."

Well. Last I heard, human rights is a concern for everybody. And, no, not with all the killings happening, we do not.

Speaking of discrimination: I've always known about bisexual hate within the LGBT community, but I've never had direct experience with it until last week, when someone from my work place called me confused and actually inexistent. It felt really shitty being told that, especially from someone who's supposed to understand more what it's like to be different, but apparently I have no right to feel victimized by heteronormativity because I have hetero-privelege and there's more reason to feel sorry for me because of my being brain-addled and incapable of choosing one side? Ah, yeah. Because heterosexuals and homosexuals are actually at war with each other. And I've never had to control myself from showing too much affection towards my female friends because I've never had girls hesitate to hug me as much as they used to after learning about my attraction towards women. You'd think someone who waves a rainbow flag so proudly would be past seeing the world in only black-and-white. Seriously.

ANYWAY. This NSFW gif of Harry and Draco look-a-likes has been circling Tumblr since idek when (most of my friends and I only saw it last night), and today I found the video it came from. Je suis majorly disappoint that "Draco" tops in it, but wth. Keep it coming, boys, give me all you've got!

Um. *A* It doesn't matter whether it's two men or two women or a BAMF good man and a pretty HBIC Scottish girl getting married... love is love is love is love forever, so! Happy Anniversary, Mr and Mrs Pond! ♥ ♥ ♥

And, finally, because it is not a Ginny post if nothing random comes up: There is hope for OPM yet. oAo

your mention of experiencing anti-bisexual prejudice makes me feel really sad. like, it's a warm 24°C today and I feel cold. :( it's that kind of attitude that makes me reluctant to refer to my own sexuality in general, tbh. :( *snuggles*

i've always been very openly proud of my sexuality (to people who aren't / won't report to my parents at least) because i figured, wth i don't give a fuck how other people deal with it. still really sucks when you're actually faced with the shit, though. :\ *squish*

I don't get how some homosexual people can think bisexuality does not exist. It's not a competition, but we're statistically a big proportion of the LGBT population.

Jesus, that Draco/Harry gif! :D I even took a look at the vid. ^^;;

tbh i didn't know there were so many of us until recently. but minority or pretty damn good number or whatever, we do exist. and there's nothing anyone can do or say about it.

isn't it just precious? i don't think i can watch it again since i don't really enjoy bottom!Harry, but it pleases me all the same that this piece of gem exists. XD

I don't know how it is for female bisexuals, but from my end, there's friction with male "bisexuals" because a lot of them use it to lord it over the more effeminate and stereotypical gay men. A lot of the time they're all, "I'm bisexual but I prefer guys more. I'm not like that." Some of them are actually gay but just use bisexuality because it's much more acceptable ("I still fuck girls!") I would be cool with their supposed bisexuality if they didn't use it to belittle gay men who at least had more balls to be who they are and not choose a "safer" option.

i get your point there. it's one thing denying who you truly are, but sissyphobia is total B.S.

i haven't really heard of actual-lesbians who pretend to be bisexuals to be "safe" from too much discrimination (although ngl straight people do tend to take it easier on us, but it doesn't make it any easier when it's obvious they're only doing so because they expect you to always follow your "straight side"), but i have met quite a number of straight girls who play the bisexual card to appear ~cool~ and/or to turn guys on. i'm sure you've heard of barsexuals--personally i don't care if that's their way of getting what they want, it's their life and i don't see what's so wrong about it in itself, but the implications against real bisexuals is terribly annoying. and i can never respect anyone who does something for the sole purpose of being "cool", wtaf.

New York, new yooork. ♥

at work so only quick HI!!! <33333

re: bisexuality: D: Don't understand some people. My exboyfriend was bi and even though people never said anything to him it annoyed me enough that people said things about bisexuality to ME. LIKE AS HIS GIRLFRIEND AREN'T I TOTALLY AFRAID THAT HE WILL LEAVE ME FOR A MAN? what? what what what? ;_; What is it with people... I always asked the girls back 'if they were afraid of their partner leaving her for another women?' ;_;

anyway could rant a bit about that even though i am not bi.

but i have to go back to wooork. And before that: stare at some more Darren and Chris stuff on tumblr to get over the day.

hi bb hi :D :D :D

lol that is just silly; are they saying they wouldn't mind being dumped if it were for another girl? but i've heard shit like that from people i know as well, though from guy friends lamenting over how shameful it must be to have their girlfriends stolen by a woman. fucking machismo.

yeah... i'm just going to listen to Darren singing about me being not alone because i'm here with him. ;3;

hi bb! ♥ (just forgot to reply here somehow)

lol that is just silly; are they saying they wouldn't mind being dumped if it were for another girl?

no they are saying that it would be normal for him to go for a boy because he is with a girl and since he is bi, he obviously wants both so he cannot be faithful (wtf) and that i am probably scared of him cheating on me with a boy.
*rolls eyes*

yeah... i'm just going to listen to Darren singing about me being not alone because i'm here with him. ;3;

first of all: OMG THAT GIF!!!!!!! UNF

Second: I get really pissed when people tell me that I'm just indecisive or still in the closet and don't dare to say outright I'm a lesbian when I tell them I'm bisexual. and it's a whole kind of other discrimination because it often also comes from the homosexual community. Why is it so hard to understand that a person can be attracted to both sexes? arrrgh
people tend to just forget about us, it's either hetero- or homosexual and all the issues are about that opposition (not that it really is an opposition). transsexuals get lost in all the hetero/homo-trouble a bit as well and bisexuals are just considered as unsure and not really anything at all and it's just really frustrating sometimes.

it's sad that we're being treated like enemies to the cause when, hello, we are fighting for the same one. isn't there enough shit in the world, enough shit happening to you--to all of us--for you to be adding even more hatred in it?

i know there are certain people who do merit such disapproval, but if there's one thing we should understand, it's that discrimination and all these shitty generalizations are fucked.

*hugs back*
